My Background & Experience

The approach I use is in keeping with Harvard University’s Prof. Butler’s comments on effective Leadership/Executive Coaching (as mentioned in the first video). The format is designed around understanding of key success factors

  1. Psychology – A sound knowledge of what motivates individuals, and what blocks their higher achievement.

  2. Organisational Behaviour – My extensive training in behaviour in organisations (collective behaviour), organisational culture (values, behaviours and actions), communication, decision-making etc. and how individuals can work with these factors.

  3. Business Knowledge – Work design, work processes, business politics, innovation, productivity, dealing with change, customer/client satisfaction and market share.

  4. Coaching Program Structure – Each coaching client has a program designed specifically around his/her needs and goals. No two coaching clients are the same nor indeed are their organisations. Therefore, my approach, far from being formulaic or programmed, (or a ‘one size fits all’ approach), entails great care in making sure the coaching design and strategy begins where the coaching client ‘is at’. Indeed, each coaching session addresses the specific needs, at that point, in the particular coaching client’s development journey.

  5. Coaching Client’s Development Is Measured – The success of the coaching program for a coaching client is measured in terms of quantifiable results in management/leadership performance (objective), as well as quality measures (subjective) of improvement in personal and management effectiveness. This can establish that a sound return (ROI) has been gained by the investment in the coaching program. The approach is a dynamic, on-going process. It ‘evolves’ along with the client. I challenge and support my coaching clients in achieving their desires. I am fully committed to their goals, and I am a loyal supporter and trusted confidant.
